Prelate’s Audience with Pope Francis

On Monday June 10, at 12.30 pm, the Holy Father received in audience the Prelate of Opus Dei, Bishop Javier Echevarría.

The Prelate wished to manifest to the Pope the affection and unity of intentions of all the Prelature’s faithful. At present, the Prelature has 90,000 faithful, of whom 2,051 are priests, and the rest are men and women who strive to attain holiness in the midst of their daily family, social and professional duties.

Bishop Echevarría also assured Pope Francis of the prayer for his person and intentions on the part of the hundreds of thousands of people who take part in the means of Christian formation offered by Opus Dei.

In this filial encounter marked by a great cordiality, the Prelate thanked the Pope for his generous service as Supreme Pastor and asked him to bless the apostolates of the Prelature, which seeks to serve the Church as the Church wants to be served, with complete adhesion to the Successor of Peter.
