EWTN interview on Fr. Joseph's Cause of Canonization

EWTN will broadcast worldwide a one-hour interview about Fr. Joseph Muzquiz, a priest of Opus Dei whose cause of canonization has begun in Boston.

The program will first be broadcast in the United States on Wednesday May 2, at 8 p.m. Eastern time. It will be rebroadcast Thursday, May 3 (at 1 a.m. and 9 a.m.) and Sunday, May 6 (at 4 a.m.).

The segment,  "EWTN Live," will feature interviews with Fr. David Cavanagh,  the postulator for Fr. Joseph's cause of canonization, and John Coverdale, the author of Putting Down Roots , a biography of Fr. Joseph.

Father Muzquiz was born in Spain and was one of the first three men ordained as priests for Opus Dei.

In 1949 he came to Chicago to begin Opus Dei in the United States. He also helped start Opus Dei in Japan, as well as  working in the central government in Opus Dei Rome and in pastoral work in Spain and Switzerland.

He resided in Boston from 1981 until his death on June 21, 1983.  His cause of canonization opened in Boston on June 2, 2011.
