New Website about St. Josemaría

The website, www.josemariaescriva.info, has been redesigned and enlarged. It now becomes the fullest internet site for information about "the saint of the ordinary," as John Paul II called him.

October 02, 2009

The new website on Opus Dei's founder—available in eight languages—makes it possible to gain more ample knowledge of his life and his message about seeking Christ in one’s daily activities.

The contents of http://www.josemariaescriva.info/ are organized under six major headings: the life and teachings of St. Josemaría, personal testimonies, educational and social initiatives inspired by his preaching, documents, multimedia, and current news.

The Saint Josemaría section has an interactive timeline that traces his life in its historical context through photos, video clips, graphics, and written materials.

The home page has recent news from around the world, along with personal testimonies of people who have received favors through St. Josemaría's intercession or have come closer to the Catholic faith and discovered the joy of leading a Christian life.

The site also shows the worldwide devotion to St. Josemaría as reflected in giving his name to churches, chapels, streets, and in other ways. The multimedia section includes videos, testimonies, and filmed get-togethers with the founder of Opus Dei.

From time to time the site will offer interviews with people who knew St. Josemaría, studied his teachings or worked with him in carrying out various initiatives.

One of the most popular sections is On this day, which relates a new incident from St. Josemaría's life on that particular date. Another popular section is Stories and games for young people, which includes drawings, stories, and prayers for children.

At the bottom of the home page, users can sign up to receive by e-mail a free newsletter with information about new content and videos when they appear on the website.
